Quarto – A trivial altercation between teenagers turned into a potential tragedy last night in Quarto. A 15-year-old stabbed an 18-year-old, leaving him near death, over a seemingly trivial argument.

The eight stab wounds inflicted on the abdomen, back, and inner thigh underscore the severity of the attack, an episode that raises alarm about violence among minors.

The dynamics of the aggression

According to an initial reconstruction, still being examined by investigators, the argument broke out over trivial matters. The victim and some of her friends were riding the 15-year-old's scooter.

The latter allegedly asked them to move, but the request sparked an argument that quickly escalated. The 15-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the 18-year-old several times.

Both boys have no criminal record, a detail that makes the violence even more inexplicable and disturbing. The victim, rushed to the hospital, is fighting for his life.

A warning signal on youth violence

The Quarto incident is yet another dramatic sign of widespread violence among young people, a phenomenon that seems to know no geographical or social boundaries. The ease with which words can be turned into action, with the use of weapons, is a wake-up call for society as a whole.

Law enforcement and institutions are called upon to intervene to understand the roots of this escalation of violence and to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.
