Naples - Pasquale Sacchettino, 59, is back in prison. He is known in the judicial news as a longtime drug dealer from the Scampia neighborhood, but became popular with the general public as the father of Vincenzo Sacchettino, a former child actor on the television series Gomorrah, where he played the character "Danielino."
The young man was arrested in 2022 during an anti-drug operation conducted between Naples and Caserta. On that occasion, "Uncle Pasquale"—as he's known in the neighborhood—was also placed under house arrest, along with another son, Vincenzo, and four other people.
This time, the prison doors were reopened for him. On Wednesday morning, officers from the Naples Flying Squad and the Scampia police station, during a routine check on Via Arcangelo Ghisleri, stopped a car carrying Sacchettino.
The man was found in possession of seven wraps of cocaine and €105 in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations, a typical element of retail drug dealing.
He had a video surveillance system at home
The search then continued at his home, where the police found eight more packages of the same narcotic substance, two precision scales, packaging material and a sophisticated video surveillance system with five micro cameras pointed outside, connected to a DVR system and an internal monitor: a device to monitor movements in the area and avoid raids by the police.
The material was seized, and Sacchettino was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics. Investigations are continuing to determine the source of the drugs and the possible involvement of other individuals in the criminal ring.
It's incredible how some people never learn from their experiences. Pasquale Sacchettino's story is a clear example of how drugs destroy lives. Let's hope the authorities can stop these illicit activities in the future.
