Another operation to combat drug trafficking has been successfully completed by the State Police in Scampia.
Local police officers arrested a 40-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, after finding him in possession of a significant quantity of cocaine and a large sum of money.
The dynamics of the arrest
During a patrol on Via Vicinale Tavernola, officers stopped a car for a routine check. Inside was a man who was clearly agitated. His nervousness aroused the officers' suspicions, and after a search, they found a well-concealed envelope under the passenger seat.
Inside, there were seven packages of cocaine, for a total weight of approximately 800 grams, and 5 thousand euros in cash, divided into bills of various cuts.
A blow to drug trafficking
The 40-year-old man, with a criminal record, was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics. The arrest and seizure represent a severe blow to the criminal organizations that manage drug trafficking in the neighborhood.
The operation demonstrates the effectiveness of the extraordinary services deployed by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat crime and restore law and order to the city's streets.

This was a very important arrest in the fight against drug trafficking in this area, but I hope it's not the last operation. The police must continue to work to ensure the safety and tranquility of residents, especially in troubled neighborhoods like Scampia.
