Illegal warehouse seized in Poggiomarino: it also stole electricity

poggiomarino– An operation by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples has brought to light a real factory abusive in Poggiomarino, managed by a Chinese citizen.

The warehouse, measuring approximately 200 square meters, was seized and the owner was reported for a long series of crimes.

A night raid reveals an illegal activity

The operation, conducted by the Torre Annunziata Group of financial police, was triggered by the nighttime tailing of a suspicious van. The pursuit led the officers to discover the warehouse, which was operating in complete disregard of workplace safety and environmental regulations.

Five Chinese nationals working illegally were found and identified inside the factory, one of whom did not have a residence permit.

Counterfeit goods, fireworks, and electricity theft

The search of the property led to the seizure of over 10.000 items of counterfeit clothing, with logos of well-known brands. But the surprises didn't end there: 2.533 illegally held fireworks were also found.

In addition to these violations, it was discovered that the entire warehouse was illegally connected to the electricity grid. Thanks to the advice of specialized technicians, energy theft was confirmed, with a total value of over €70, with an estimated consumption of 399.600 kWh over time.

Furthermore, the warehouse was burdened by a demolition order issued by the municipal offices, confirming its total illegality.

The factory owner, who has failed to file his tax return since 2022, has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Torre Annunziata Court for crimes ranging from counterfeiting to the exploitation of illegal immigration, from possession of explosives to electricity theft, and for violations of workplace safety and the environment.
