Shooting in Forio d'Ischia: Three dead, one injured

Forio d'Ischia – Bloodshed and terror erupted this evening in the Cuotto area of Forio d'Ischia, where a shooting left death and shock. Three people were killed and a fourth was seriously injured.

Initial reports suggested a fight escalated inside a bar, but the circumstances were quickly clarified: the shots were apparently fired in an alleyway adjacent to a hotel.

Two bodies were found right in front of the entrance to the building, while the body of a third victim was found further down the same road.

A massive deployment of law enforcement officers, including Carabinieri, State Police, local police, and volunteers, immediately cordoned off the area, making it inaccessible. The area remains under lockdown, while the Prosecutor's Office coordinates ballistic tests and investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Passionate hypothesis

At this time, the causes of the massacre remain unclear. Initial reports, however, suggest a possible motive of passion, a possibility investigators have not ruled out and will be explored in the coming hours.

The injured man, in serious condition, was rushed to the hospital: his testimony could prove crucial in reconstructing the tense moments that preceded the shooting.

Politics: "Don't let crime return to the island."

The news deeply shocked the island community. Francesco Emilio Borrelli, a member of parliament for the Green Left Alliance, also commented on the incident:

The news of a shooting in Forio d'Ischia leaves me shocked. It's an unprecedentedly serious incident that appears to have involved multiple people. What's certain is that, after years of hard work by residents and local governments, criminals and members of the Camorra are unfortunately returning to the island, attracted in part by the presence of several TikTok users. We must prevent a return to the 80s, when a large portion of organized crime thought it could colonize this place with violence and arrogance.
