There were moments of fear this afternoon in the municipality of Sangineto in the province of Cosenza, where a daytime attack occurred.
Around 17 p.m., two gunmen on a motorbike fired numerous shots at the entrance to the area dedicated to the Castello del Principe nightclub on Via Alcide De Gasperi on the hill above the town.
A musical evening was scheduled for this evening, and several thousand tickets were sold. The area is populated by families and young Neapolitans, and the evening preceding Ferragosto (August 15th) at the Castello nightclub is one of the most anticipated events of the summer.
After the shootout, the two gunmen fled without a trace, while Carabinieri patrols arrived on the scene to conduct investigations. The owners of the restaurant, who own a well-known hotel in the same town, were also on the scene.
