He died during a live stream, in front of his followers. Raphaël Graven, 46, known online under the pseudonym Jeanpormanove, was found lifeless on Monday morning in his home in Contes, near Nice.

The police intervened after reports from users who had watched his last live broadcast, broadcast during the night between Sunday and Monday.

According to French media reports, Graven was very popular in the past on TikTok and Twitch, but months ago he had moved his activities to Kick, a less regulated streaming platform often criticized for spreading extreme content. There he had amassed nearly 193 subscribers, offering increasingly risky and controversial videos.

In recent months, the 46-year-old had become the protagonist of violent scenes live on air: public humiliation, physical assaults, strangulations, paint throwing, punches. Some of these incidents have resurfaced in recent hours on social media, especially on X. In several clips, other streamers, known as Naruto and Safine, can be seen hitting him and subjecting him to extreme ordeals.

The two were with Jeanpormanove on the night of the tragedy. In the incriminating live broadcast, the 46-year-old appears unconscious: one of those present tries to shake him, but fails to revive him.

Many viewers described that scene as the epilogue of “ten days and nights of torture,” including physical abuse, sleep deprivation, and even the ingestion of toxic substances.

The Nice prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to determine the cause of death and the roles of the two streamers. Naruto and Safine are not new to investigations: at the end of 2024, they had already been charged with intentional gang violence against vulnerable people and kidnapping, albeit for less than eight days.

A disturbing detail emerged from an old video: in it, Naruto reads a message Graven had sent to his mother a few days before his death. In his words, he confessed to feeling "prisoner" and his desire to "get out of this game of death."
