Afragola– A First Communion party, colorful balloons, and a festively decorated home. It would be a normal scene, if it weren't for the home of Alessio Tucci, the young man who last May 26 confessed to the gruesome murder of his 14-year-old girlfriend, Martina Carbonaro.
The results of the autopsy on the young woman's body, released in recent days, have sparked a storm of indignation online and elsewhere, fueling a grief that recent revelations have made even more heartbreaking and unbearable for the victim's family.
Indeed, the experts' conclusions reveal a chilling detail about the dynamics of the crime: Martina, after being struck on the head with four violent blows from a rock, was still alive when she was locked in the closet where she was later found. This detail means, in stark terms, that she could have been saved. That act, instead, sealed her end.
Precisely in this context of heartbreaking mourning and the search for justice, the celebration of Tucci's younger sister's first communion appeared to the Carbonaro family and the public as a macabre slap in the face to the girl's memory.

The one who brought the matter to national attention was the member of the Green and Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, along with the regional director of Europa Verde, Salvatore Iavarone, at the urging of Martina's mother. In a heartbreaking message, the woman wrote: "They're celebrating with my daughter at the cemetery, while we're condemned to a life sentence of suffering."
"There is no respect for the family of Martina Carbonaro"She was killed in a subtle and brutal way and left in the rubbish at the Moccia stadium in Afragola," Borrelli said. "Just four months have passed since this horror, and in the home of the confessed murderer, they are celebrating with ostentatious decorations and the usual photos. As if nothing had happened."
The criticism goes beyond tactlessness and concerns the Tucci family's educational responsibility. "We wonder what kind of teaching this family is giving to the little girl," the parliamentarian continues.
That you can kill a 14-year-old girl and then celebrate merrily without showing the slightest sign of remorse? This is a shocking example of a refusal of parental responsibility and a complete failure to instill respect for the lives of others.
The celebration, in short, becomes a symbol of a double grief: the loss of Martina, a young life brutally cut short, and the outrage at a normality too quickly regained by her attacker. Meanwhile, the Carbonaros live what they call their "life sentence of suffering," made even more bitter by the shocking truth of the autopsy. A truth that speaks even louder of the need for justice for Martina.

This little article is truly sad and makes one reflect on the situation. The communion party seems truly inappropriate, and it's unclear how the Tucci family can celebrate after such a tragic event. It's disrespectful.
