Gragnano – The assassination mission to eliminate Gragnano pasta maker Alfonso Cesarano, linked to the Di Martino Camorra family, the drug lords of the Iuvani area on the border with Pimonte, began on the outskirts of Boscoreale, specifically in the area around Via Andreulli.

La Dda The Naples Carabinieri, along with the Torre Annunziata Carabinieri, have arrested three people accused of the murder. They worked on the scooter used to kill, on the afternoon of August 29th, the associate of Fabio Di Martino, son of the mafia boss Leonardo o'Lione.

Among those arrested is Rita Letizia Maugeri, wife of the mafia boss Domenico Guastafierro, arrested in a raid last February that led to 24 people being jailed for drug trafficking.

Guastafierro, linked to the Annunziata-Aquino clan of Boscoreale, may be a key link in the criminal network that led to the Gragnano murder. Rita Letizia Maugeri was arrested last week when dozens of Carabinieri officers raided the area bordering Boscoreale near a home she owned.

Dozens of Carabinieri officers, assisted by firefighters, searched two buildings on Via Andreulli and found the scooter believed to have been used by the killers in a sealed garage.

The killers' scooter was discovered on the outskirts of Boscoreale.

The woman now charged with aiding and abetting murder, according to law enforcement, allegedly inspected the scene of the crime in Gragnano before the murder and then hid the scooter used by the killers. She is currently under house arrest for serious family reasons.

Instead, Aniello Mirante, 38 years old, ended up in prison, the one who allegedly fired at Alfonso Cesarano and Alfonso Bifulco, 55, who had no criminal record and was driving the scooter.

The scene is a clash over the management of cannabis plantations in the Lattari Mountains, an area where the young man felt he owned the land. What drove him to murder, and more importantly, who ordered the crime, will now be clarified by the ongoing investigation.

Cesarano was riddled with bullets while returning home on Via Cappella della Guardia, in Gragnano. He was riding his scooter when the killers opened fire, not even sparing his dog, who was killed along with its owner.

A life marked by violence

The 34-year-old was no stranger to bloody incidents. Two years ago, he survived a Kalashnikov-fired ambush near his family's pasta factory in Lettere. This wave of violence appears to be part of the ongoing criminal tensions in the Monti Lattari area, a crossroads of business and Camorra interests.

At the time of the murder Cesarano He was under house arrest for attempted murder and was being monitored by an electronic bracelet. Despite this, he was allowed out to work at a pasta factory, a circumstance that the hitmen exploited to ambush him.

The investigation, which had been ongoing since the day of the crime, led the Carabinieri to narrow down the alleged perpetrators. The evidence gathered—investigations, wiretaps, and testimonies—convinced the DDA to request an arrest warrant. Now it's up to the Naples investigating judge to decide whether to validate the order.
