Castel Volturno: Man hit on crosswalk while walking to work: Manhunt for hit-and-run driver

A 44-year-old man was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a pedestrian crossing in Castel Volturno.

CASTEL VOLTURNO – A tragedy at dawn on the DomitianMarco Ioime, 44, was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a pedestrian crossing on his way to work. The impact was extremely violent: his body was thrown several meters before falling back down to the pavement.

The driver did not stop to provide assistance, fleeing immediately after the accident.

Passersby alerted emergency services, but Ioime's condition was already desperate: he was rushed to Pineta Grande Hospital, where he died shortly thereafter from his severe injuries. He leaves behind a wife and daughter.

The State Police is investigating the case: the police station of Castel Volturno They've already acquired surveillance camera footage from the scene, allowing them to identify the car's make and model, which was apparently a rental. Investigators believe identifying the driver is now a matter of hours.

This article is very sad and makes you think about how people don't respect traffic rules. A life was lost due to an irresponsible driver. I hope the police find the culprit soon.
