Castellammare di Stabia – Two legal strands, one scandal. The investigation into the Salvati middle school in the Scanzano neighborhood has reached its first real turning point.

The Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office has in fact notified the closure of the investigation to Professor Veronica Sposito , 38, originally from Meta di Sorrento, who was arrested last January on very serious charges: aggravated sexual assault and inducing seven students to perform sexual acts on her school desks.

The accusations against the teacher

According to investigators' reconstruction, the young students reportedly confirmed the abuse incidents during the preliminary investigation, which were also deemed "credible" by the experts commissioned by the Prosecutor's Office. Adding to the accusation's seriousness are chat messages and voice messages with sexual content, recovered from the alleged victims' cell phones.

This material threatens to weigh heavily on the professor's future legal proceedings. The preliminary hearing will be scheduled soon, a crucial step in determining whether Veronica Sposito will stand trial.

The punitive expedition

But the story doesn't end there. A second investigation revolves around this case, opened on the punitive raid of November 14th. That day, a few weeks before the teacher's arrest, a group of parents allegedly waited for the woman outside the school, insulting her and punching and kicking her.

A full-blown assault that didn't even stop at the entrance to the institute, under the eyes of colleagues and students.

The Carabinieri investigation led to the identification of eleven people, mostly mothers of students, accused of assault and threats. According to investigators, it was a veritable "punitive raid," sparked by the outrage among families following the initial rumors of abuse.

Two parallel proceedings

So, on one side, a teacher accused of pedophilia, on the other, a group of parents who allegedly chose self-imposed justice. Two parallel cases now making their way through the courts: one trial to determine whether the teacher is guilty of the extremely serious charges against her, the other to determine the responsibility of those who, convinced of their guilt, decided to take revenge on their own.

A story that tells not only the scandal of a school engulfed in suspicion and shame, but also the climate of anger and fear that drove some parents to become aggressors.
