A Sunday of peace and prayer turned into a nightmare in Grand Blanc, Genesee County, Michigan, United States. At least one person was killed and nine others, including children, were injured in a devastating shooting inside a Mormon church, CNN reported.

"The entire church is on fire," Sheriff Christopher Swanson declared, as emergency crews worked to evacuate trapped worshippers. Many of the injured are in serious condition, and authorities fear the death toll could rise. The brutality of the attack, combined with the intentional destruction of a sacred site, has deeply shocked the local and national community.
“A day of prayer and peace turned into such evil is unacceptable,” wrote Michigan Republican Representative John James on X, joining the chorus of condemnation for an act that strikes at the heart of religious freedom.

It's time to speak out against those who sow hatred and destruction, against those who seek to stifle freedom of worship with fire and weapons.

It's incredible that in 2025 we can still witness such attacks against places of worship. Violence doesn't lead to anything good; rather, it only increases fear among people who are simply seeking to worship in peace and quiet.
