Naples - Over the past 24 hours, the extraordinary operations deployed by the Police Headquarters to combat drug dealing have led to the arrest of two pushers, both with criminal records, caught selling doses in various squares in the Vicaria-Mercato area. Local police officers conducted a double operation, resulting in the seizure of hashish, crack, and heroin.
Chase in Via Sopramuro
The first incident occurred on Via Sopramuro. During patrol, officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station noticed a man, later identified as a 39-year-old Romanian, making the classic "money for drugs" exchange with another person. Upon seeing the cops, the two attempted a desperate escape to evade control.
The inseguimento It ended shortly after with the arrest of the 39-year-old. The search yielded €10, the proceeds of the recently concluded illegal activity.
But the most significant discovery came from the recovery of a package that the man had attempted to discard during the race: inside, investigators found 13 doses of hashish, for a total weight of approximately 190 grams.

Crack and rroina in Piazza Capuana
The second arrest occurred almost simultaneously in Piazza Capuana, one of the areas most sensitive to drug dealing. Here, too, officers from the same police station witnessed a similar drug and money exchange involving a 40-year-old man from Guinea.
When officers intervened to stop the criminal activity, the 40-year-old put up fierce resistance to evade arrest, making the arrest particularly difficult. Once subdued, the man was found in possession of two packages of crack cocaine, two packages of heroin, and €90 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
The 40-year-old, with a criminal record, was sent to prison on charges of illegal possession of narcotics and, additionally, resisting a public official.
After the usual formalities, the two suspects were placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. Police sources say the intensified operations by the Police Headquarters will continue unabated in the coming days.

It's a very sad fact that there are still people dealing drugs in public squares, especially in a city like Naples. Law enforcement is right to intervene, but we also need to find solutions to help these people.
