Salerno – A routine check resulted in the seizure of 120 grams of cocaine. It happened yesterday in Salerno, where officers from the UPGSP Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters arrested a 60-year-old man, caught driving his car with a large quantity of the drug, ready for sale.
The operation, which began as a simple local surveillance operation, took a decisive turn when officers stopped the car for a check. The driver, a man from Salerno, immediately displayed irritable and nervous behavior, drawing even more attention from the police.
It was this attitude that aroused the suspicions of the patrol officers, prompting them to proceed with a thorough search of the vehicle.

Inside was a stash of pure cocaine weighing approximately 120 grams, a quantity that ruled out any suggestion of modest consumption and which, according to investigators, was intended to supply the province's black market. The drugs, once released, could have generated a turnover of several thousand euros.
The man was then taken to Police Headquarters and, by order of the Judicial Authority, he was placed under house arrest pending trial for the crime of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The episode confirms the intense territorial control activity carried out by the Salerno police forces, who, through targeted patrols and apparently routine checks, continue to target the drug trafficking, a phenomenon that knows no crisis and that exploits every possible distribution channel.

An Italian woman in Saudi Arabia caught with a joint in her bag at the airport received eight months in prison. In Italy, however, anyone can sell and consume any kind of drug without being punished.
It's incredible how a routine check can yield such significant discoveries. These law enforcement operations are important for maintaining security in our country, but it's also worrying to see how widespread drugs are.
