Arzano - The cemetery management announced the news in an official press release, after a lengthy process that averted certain disputes. The management has brought the first 8000 burial niches back under its jurisdiction, which until a few months ago were managed by the archconfraternities in a manner completely in violation of the cemetery statute.
The same consortium had already taken over the management of the necrophoric services carried out within the same areas.

The efforts to restore legality and compliance, resulting from the specific investigations conducted by the consortium, have already resulted in the de facto expiration of the concession for the buildings known as "Santa Maria del Buon Consiglio" and "Santa Maria della Pietà," managed by the brotherhoods of the same name.
After nearly a century of following a specific procedure and endless back-and-forth with the local managers of the same confraternities, the Consortium's President, architect Luigi Pappadia, after consulting with the entire board of directors, instructed director Sabato Terracciano to proceed. Given the severe state of disrepair, decay, and neglect, with structural and system issues that posed a risk to public safety, as verified by the expert's assessments, the consortium decided to enforce the law and the Statute by revoking the concessions.

The cemetery announcement is important news for the community. But I wonder if the new management is actually better than the previous one, especially in terms of respect for the rules and legality. Let's hope so.
