Tomorrow , Saturday 6 September, at 8:30 pm, Piazza Marina in Casamicciola Terme, designed by architect Massimiliano Fuksas, will transform into the stage for the eighth edition of the Ischia Film&Art Festival Luchino Visconti.
The free-admission "Visconti Award 2025" ceremony promises to be a high-impact evening, featuring awards, distinguished guests, and cultural tributes. Singer Cosetta Gigli and journalist Manuela Pirozzi will host the event, in a setting that combines glamour and accessibility, under the auspices of the Campania Region and the Metropolitan City of Naples.
Special guests included Prefect Mario Morcone, Councilor for Legality for the Campania Region, Mayor Stefano Bandecchi of Terni, and Rosalba Giugni, national president of Marevivo. The award-winning lineup reflects the Festival's international and multidisciplinary spirit, with recognition for leading figures in film, music, and the visual arts. Yvonne Sciò, fresh from the Venice Film Festival, will receive the "Visconti Social Award" for her documentary "Seven Women," crowning a career spanning fashion and directing.
Maria Guerriero, a young talent in fiction and independent cinema, will be celebrated for her versatility, while Nunzia Schiano, an icon of theater, film, and television, will receive the special "Arnaldo Delehaye" award.
A lifetime achievement award will be given to Giacomo Rizzo, who, with over 40 films starring alongside masters such as Pasolini, Risi, and Sorrentino, won the "Una Presenza" award. Marianna Mercurio, acclaimed in "I fratelli De Filippo" and "Parthenope," will receive "Luchino Visconti's Hydrangea," a work by sculptor Domenico Sepe. Music will also be honored, with the "Maestri per la Musica-Franco Mannino" award going to pianist Marco Arcieri, who abandoned engineering for art.
Russian painter Yana Rikushka will be honored in Marevivo's "Only One" contest, while writer Vittorio Del Tufo, author of "L'Uovo di Virgilio," will receive the "Traveler Beyond Borders" award. The evening's highlight will be a tribute to Salvatore Liguori, photographer and director of the Teatro Totò acting academy, who passed away prematurely.
His exhibition "A Set in Thirteen Shots," shot on the set of Brando De Sica's "Mimì, Prince of Darkness," earned him the "Visconti 2025" award for set photography. In his honor, the Festival has established the "Salvatore Liguori Award," which this year was awarded to the young actor Antonio Ciorfito.
The program also features the "Franco Testa" award to choreographer Ettore Squillace and a performance by Alessia Moio, the voice of classic Neapolitan song, alongside the six finalists in the unreleased pop song section. Vanessa Capossela's direction and Claudio Niola's audio-visual design will ensure a flawless evening.
The 2025 Ischia Film & Art Festival confirms its position as a hub of talent, celebrating art in all its forms and leaving a cultural legacy that, with the new Salvatore Liguori Award, looks to the future without forgetting its roots.

The festival looks very interesting, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go. The award winners all seem talented, and the venue is beautiful. I hope there are some good performances during the evening.
