Arzano – The Naples Police Headquarters' extraordinary territorial control operations continue. As part of their efforts to prevent and suppress crime, officers conducted another raid in Arzano yesterday.
The operation, conducted by officers from the Frattamaggiore Police Station with the support of the Campania Crime Prevention Unit, resulted in numerous checks and charges. Specifically, 134 people were identified, 40 of whom were already known to law enforcement through criminal records . Sixty-four vehicles were also inspected, two of which were seized.
The operation also included checking the vehicles' documentation, with officers issuing five traffic violations for driving without a license, lack of insurance, and failure to have the vehicle inspected. The total administrative fines imposed amounted to €5.
The police also extended their checks to commercial businesses, inspecting four establishments. In two cases, the owners were not present on the premises during the betting operation, which led to their being reported. Checks were also conducted on individuals subject to preventive measures: 4 individuals with restrictive measures or alternatives to detention were checked.
The raid live: the futile escape and the stolen motorbike
The most significant incident of the evening, however, occurred on Via Roma, in the neighboring municipality of Sant'Antimo. The officers' attention was drawn to two individuals on a motorcycle who, upon seeing the patrol cars, attempted to flee quickly to avoid being stopped.
The chase was immediate. The two were caught and apprehended after a short drive. Subsequent investigations revealed the reason for their escape: the motorcycle they were traveling on had been stolen last August in Frattamaggiore.
The two arrested individuals were identified as a 20-year-old and a 16-year-old, both residents of Sant'Antimo and known for previous police records. They were charged with receiving stolen goods . The driver, an adult, was also charged with driving without a license. The motorcycle was seized and eventually returned to its rightful owner.
The operation is part of a broader territorial control strategy implemented by the Police Headquarters, which continues to deploy personnel and resources to ensure security and legality throughout the province of Naples.
