CARDITO – Carabinieri officers from the Caserta Company executed a detention order this morning against three individuals, aged 54, 29, and 22, already known to law enforcement. They are believed to be responsible for attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods. The operation was coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate and ordered by the investigating judge of the Naples Court.
The investigation, launched in July 2025 by the San Nicola La Strada Police Station, has allowed the reconstruction of an incident that occurred in Cardito , involving the owner of a company manufacturing and distributing slot machines with cash prizes. The three suspects, presenting themselves as members of local organized crime, allegedly made extortion demands against the company's employee, threatening him implicitly but clearly.
The sum demanded was €1.500, to be paid in three annual installments (Christmas, Easter, and August 15th), plus an additional €3.000, equal to half of the €6.000 previously advanced by the victim to a bar for renovations. The victim's complaint to the Carabinieri was crucial to the investigation, as it allowed them to gather evidence through witness statements, public surveillance footage, and cell phone analysis, enabling them to definitively identify the alleged perpetrators.
