Casoria – A 26-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested yesterday afternoon by the State Police in Casoria, in the province of Naples, on charges of possession with intent to sell narcotics.
The operation is part of the extraordinary operations deployed by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat drug trafficking in the area. Officers from the Afragola Police Station, during a targeted check on Via Giuseppe Rocco, stopped the young man for a routine inspection.
Following the search, 26-year-old Giuseppe Amendola was found in possession of 10 packages containing marijuana and €155 in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations, likely the proceeds of the illegal activity.
Suspicious, the police decided to extend the search to the subject's home, where they found 42 additional packages of the same substance, for a total of 77 grams of marijuana. The young man, with a prior history of drug-related crimes, was immediately arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
The operation confirms law enforcement's commitment to combating drug dealing in Casoria, which continues to be a scourge for the city. Investigations are continuing to determine any possible links to broader trafficking networks.
