Castel Volturno – The body of Giuseppe Izzo, the 66-year-old diver from Torre del Greco who disappeared at sea on September 16, has been found lifeless . His body was recovered in the Castel Volturno area, sadly confirming the fears of his family and the local community.
The news, which Torre del Greco's mayor, Luigi Mennella, learned with deep sorrow, shocked the city. Izzo was known as an avid scuba diver and had gone to Baia Verde for one of his regular dives. Since that day, however, there has been no news of him.
Search operations began immediately, involving the Port Authority, Coast Guard , and Fire Department, but hopes of finding him alive faded as the hours passed. The discovery of his body put an end to an agonizing wait.
The Torre del Greco municipal administration, through the mayor, expressed its deepest condolences to the Izzo family, assuring that it will closely monitor the investigation to fully understand the circumstances that led to the man's death. The competent authorities have launched an investigation to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and determine the cause of death.

It's a real shame that Giuseppe Izzo was found dead. I knew about his diving and his love for the sea. The community must stand united in these difficult times and support his family.
