Antonio Schiavone, brother of Casalesi boss Francesco "Sandokan" Schiavone, was arrested by Carabinieri from the Caserta Investigative Unit as part of an investigation coordinated by the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate. He faces serious charges: complicity in money laundering and self-laundering, aggravated by mafia methods. Two other people were also arrested, having been placed under house arrest by the Naples investigating judge.
At the center of the case was a plot of land in Grazzanise worth €500, which Sandokan had registered in the name of a front man to avoid confiscation. Upon the front man's death, his children inherited the property, renting it to third parties. This is where the boss's family comes into play: according to investigators, Ivanhoe Schiavone—the clan boss's only free son until his arrest last July—and the front man Corvino allegedly forced the termination of the lease using Camorra-style methods, thus facilitating a rigged sale for €250.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Antonio Schiavone himself was behind the scenes, directing the operations and safeguarding the assets registered to front men. This covert management was aimed at ensuring a steady income to support his imprisoned brother and close family members. The investigation, launched between 2024 and 2025, combined wiretaps, asset checks, and the analysis of prison conversations with Sandokan, as well as statements from collaborators with justice, including the boss's son, Nicola Schiavone.
