It was supposed to be a Sunday of sport and fun, but instead it turned into a nightmare. At the end of the Under-14 match between CSF Carmagnola and Volpiano Pianese, part of the prestigious "Super Oscar" youth tournament and played in Collegno, a parent climbed over the fence and attacked the opposing goalkeeper, Thomas Sarritzu, just 13 years old.

According to reports, after the final whistle, some jeering broke out among the youths, but nothing suggested the explosion of violence that followed. The man, coming from the stands, approached the young goalkeeper and punched him in the face, knocking him down.

Not satisfied, he continued to rage until the managers of both teams intervened. The boy was rushed to Martini Hospital in Turin , where doctors diagnosed a fractured malleolus and are examining a further fracture to the cheekbone. His football season risks being jeopardized.

The assault occurred before the astonished eyes of teammates, parents, and coaches, leaving a profound mark on the sports community. The Volpiano Pianese club expressed its solidarity with the young man's family, reiterating the need to protect young people from incidents that have nothing to do with the values of sport. The attacker was identified by the Carabinieri, and the Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation.

Meanwhile, the president of Paradiso Collegno , Franco Mesiano, has taken a firm stance: "This is an episode we condemn without hesitation. The values of sport are respect, loyalty, and community, certainly not violence. An act like this must be addressed with the utmost severity."

It's incredible how adults can sometimes lose control in sports situations. They shouldn't be role models for young people, but instead they behave violently. We need to reflect on these incidents and find solutions to prevent them.

This is a terrible thing and shouldn't have happened. The kids are just playing and need to have fun, not be attacked. I hope those responsible are punished to protect everyone, especially the young people.
