Acerra - State Police operations continue relentlessly in the area north of Naples, where the fight against drug trafficking remains a priority for investigators.
Yesterday evening, a joint operation of the Flying Squad and the Acerra Police Station, with the support of the Campania Crime Prevention Department, led to the arrest of two women, a 60-year-old resident in the city and a 44-year-old Neapolitan woman already known to the police for specific precedents in relation to drugs.
During a targeted search of the Acerra woman's home, officers found the 44-year-old inside and immediately recovered an initial quantity of drugs: 22 packages of cocaine, weighing approximately 32 grams in total, along with €270 in cash, divided into various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.

The most significant discovery, however, came shortly thereafter. In the apartment's bathroom, carefully hidden behind a radiator, the officers located a safe. Inside were another 120 grams of cocaine and a precision scale, a device typically used to weigh doses for sale.
The two women were arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The operation is part of a plan of extraordinary controls implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters, which in recent weeks has intensified its efforts to combat the spread of drugs in the area, with particular attention to drug dealing hubs in the surrounding municipalities.

It seems to me that law enforcement is working hard to fight drugs in this area, but I don't know if arrests alone are enough to stop this problem, which is much more complex and profound.
