Naples – The Naples Police Headquarters continues its relentless efforts to combat drug trafficking and illegal weapons possession in the city. Late yesterday afternoon, officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station conducted a major raid on an abandoned building on Via Villa San Giovanni, in San Giovanni a Teduccio, uncovering a large quantity of drugs and suspicious material.
The area is under the control of the clan of Salvatore D'Amico o' pirata , the boss closely linked to the Mazzarella clan
During a targeted check, ordered as part of extraordinary operations to combat crime, the police found and seized 84 bags of marijuana, weighing approximately 200 grams, and 12 packages of hashish, equal to 300 grams.
In addition to the drugs, a precision scale, two knives, and a replica Bruni model 92 pistol, complete with magazine, were discovered. The find also included eight magazines for various types of weapons, 15 rounds of ammunition for a 12-gauge long gun, and various materials used to package the drugs.
The material, abandoned by unknown persons, was seized, and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible and reconstruct the origin of the drugs and weapons. The operation is part of a broader territorial control plan aimed at curbing the illicit activities that fuel organized crime in the neighborhood.
The Naples Police Headquarters remains fully committed to ensuring citizen safety, intensifying prevention and enforcement efforts in sensitive areas such as San Giovanni a Teduccio, where drug and arms trafficking remains a crucial challenge.

It's important for the police to carry out these operations to stop drug and gun trafficking. However, there are increasing problems in these areas, and people are afraid to go out. More security is needed.
Yes, but it's not enough to just stop traffic. We also need to help people find jobs and avoid crime. Only then can we truly improve the situation in the neighborhood.
