Naples - Over one and a half million counterfeit and dangerous toys, lacking the necessary safety certifications, have been seized by the Guardia di Finanza of Naples in an operation that led to the reporting of two people.

The action, conducted in recent days, aims to protect the health of consumers, especially children, from the phenomenon of illegal and potentially lethal products.

The raid by the "Baschi Verdi" of the Pronto Impiego Group focused on a large wholesale warehouse in the industrial area of Via Gianturco, the heart of Neapolitan wholesale trade.

Here, financial police discovered a huge quantity of items lacking the certificate of conformity to European regulations. The "CE" mark, mandatory to ensure product safety, was falsely affixed to the packaging to deceive buyers.

Among the toys seized, many of which illegally reproduced cult cartoon characters beloved by generations of children, blatantly violating copyright. But the danger isn't limited to the puppets. The maxi-seizure It also brought to light 10.000 non-compliant cosmetics and fake jewelry that faithfully imitated, in a “false” way, the designs of famous jewelry brands.

Following the investigation, two Chinese citizens, owners of the business, were reported to the judicial authorities. The charges are extremely serious: trademark counterfeiting, receiving stolen goods, commercial fraud, selling industrial products with false markings, and, last but not least, violation of the European regulation on cosmetics safety.

The operation confirms the Naples Provincial Command's commitment to combating the scourge of counterfeit and unsafe products, which, especially during the pre-Christmas period, flood the market, seriously endangering public safety in exchange for illicit profits.

The Guardia di Finanza's operation was very important, but I wonder how it's possible that there are so many fake toys out there. They should do more to protect children and consumers.
