A crime that suddenly came to fruition, due to a trivial argument that degenerated into violence, and was committed in the middle of the night in one of the most elegant neighborhoods of Naples.
This is what emerges from the investigations of the Carabinieri of the Naples Central company who, on orders from the Public Prosecutor's Office, arrested a 36-year-old Moldovan on charges of murder and attempted destruction of a corpse.
The precautionary measure was triggered on September 1, 2025, just over a week after the events. The murder took place between August 24 and 25, under the bridge on Via A. d' Isernia , in Chiaia, an area usually frequented by families and nightclubs, where one would never expect to find the scene of a bloodbath.
The fight and the assault
According to initial investigations, the victim—a man of North African origin, yet to be identified—was involved in an argument with the 36-year-old Moldovan. The reasons for the altercation are still being investigated by investigators, but initial findings suggest it was a dispute over trivial matters that quickly escalated into a fatal attack.
The attempted concealment
Not satisfied with the murder , the suspect allegedly attempted to dispose of the victim's body to cover up the crime. This clumsy move did not prevent the Carabinieri from reconstructing the incident through technical surveys, witness statements, and analysis of video surveillance footage from the area.
The investigations
The investigative work quickly uncovered the dynamics and gathered serious evidence against the 36-year-old, leading to the issuance of a precautionary custody order.
The victim's identity remains to be determined and the movements that preceded the attack reconstructed. Investigators are also investigating whether there were other accomplices and the connection between the Moldovan and the murdered man.

This news is deeply alarming for the city, especially in a neighborhood like Chiaia, where people thought they were safe. I hope the investigation will shed light on this terrible event, and that justice will be served.
