Naples – First threats and punches to the face, then gunfire at chest height against a boy just out of school. A brutal attack in the Ponticelli neighborhood led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man. He was jailed on very serious charges: attempted murder, aggravated assault, and illegal possession and carrying of a firearm.

The precautionary custody order, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples at the request of the Prosecutor's Office, was executed by the Investigative Team of the Ponticelli Police Station.

The ambush after leaving school

According to investigators' reconstruction, it all began when the victim, a minor student, noticed two young men—both between 18 and 20 years old—riding a gray scooter following him. Their menacing glances and intimidating behavior anticipated what would later escalate into a full-blown raid.

As the boy was returning home on his scooter with a friend, the two attackers intercepted him again. One of them punched him several times in the face, knocking him to the ground. Only the screams of a passerby forced the two to flee.

The gunshots

Shortly afterward, however, the same attackers returned to the scene. This time, the 22-year-old—sitting on the back seat of the motorcycle—pulled out a pistol and fired at least four shots at the young student , aiming at his height.

No bullet hit the victim, but the violence of the action further aggravated the suspect's judicial position.

The investigations and the minor accomplice

Thanks to subsequent investigations and checks, the police were able to identify both perpetrators: in addition to the 22-year-old, believed to be the actual perpetrator of the shooting, the involvement of another minor emerged.

The investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, remains open to clarify the context of the attack, which, as investigators highlight, occurred for trivial reasons.
