– Another tragedy unfolds within the confines of a home, but this time the victim is a man. Last night, on Via Sant'Arcangelo in Baiano, in the heart of Forcella, a 45-year-old man was killed by his wife during a violent argument.
The woman, who was also injured, was treated and admitted to Pellegrini Hospital with a critical condition due to being stabbed several times. Her life is not in danger, however, and she was interviewed by investigators. She stated that she defended herself after being attacked with a knife by her husband.
The reconstruction of the crime
According to initial reports, the argument between the spouses quickly escalated. The man grabbed a knife and struck his wife, who somehow managed to wrestle the weapon away from him and fight back. Ciro Rapuano, 58, was found dead in his bed, stabbed by his wife. She told the State Police—who responded to the couple's home at the woman's request—that she had also been stabbed by her husband before reacting and stabbing him in turn.
The woman is currently being questioned by investigators from the Naples Flying Squad and a magistrate from the 4th Section (vulnerable groups) of the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office . The murder occurred between 2:30 and 2:45 a.m. on Via Sant'Arcangelo in Baiano.
