This detail will also be examined by investigators, along with the autopsy, which will clarify Rapuano's physical and mental condition at the time of her death, determining whether she had consumed alcohol or drugs.
A gruesome scene unfolded before the eyes of the Flying Squad officers: the man sprawled on the bed, his body battered by blows, his wife still with blood on her hands. A rampage that, according to initial reports, lasted several minutes.
The witness daughter
Crucial for investigators will be the testimony of the couple's 28-year-old daughter, who was at home that night with her seven-year-old daughter. She was awakened by her mother's screams and witnessed the final moments of the tragedy. Fortunately, the little girl remained asleep in her crib, unaware of what was happening.
The young woman told investigators that she saw her mother, wounded but lucid, strike her father. These are damaging statements, which, however, will need to be verified and compared with what emerges from the technical examinations and the woman's questioning.

She allegedly mentioned a long history of domestic violence, a story that, however, has not yet been officially confirmed. A few hours later, however, the woman fell into a state of profound despair, so much so that the prison police ordered special monitoring due to the risk of self-harm.

The investigating judge will have to decide whether to validate the arrest, and, in parallel, the autopsy will clarify the circumstances, manner, and timing of the attack.
