Pozzuoli – The Municipality of Pozzuoli is reinforcing its commitment to citizen safety with a special maintenance program on the automated external defibrillators (AEDs) installed throughout the area. Following Law No. 116/21, which promoted the deployment of these lifesaving devices, the municipal administration has decided to intervene to ensure the stations are in perfect working order and address any damage or malfunctions.

The decision, also informed by recent bradyseismic events affecting the area, was made by Mayor Luigi Manzoni to "ensure additional safety for residents," as specified in the commitment resolution. This initiative goes beyond simple installation, focusing on ongoing management and maintenance, a key element for the effectiveness of a cardioprotection project.

From installation to management: an evolving project

The Pozzuoli cardioprotection project began with the installation of AEDs in strategic, high-traffic locations, such as the seafront promenade, Piazza Severini in Monteruscello, and the Piazzetta in the historic center. This was complemented by training the Municipal Police in first aid and the use of defibrillators (BLSD).

Attention now turns to maintenance. The Naples-based company Auexde, already involved in the project, has been tasked with conducting an in-depth technical inspection to quickly restore the damaged cabinets and devices. AEDs, in fact, are devices that require constant monitoring to be ready for use in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.

Advanced technology and anti-theft security

The defibrillators installed in Pozzuoli are equipped with advanced technology. They are autonomous and easy to use, guiding the rescuer with voice instructions. Thanks to a 4G connection, the devices are monitored 24/24, and the cabinets are connected and controlled remotely, reducing response times and ensuring an efficient and sustainable system.

One of the most significant innovations concerns the display cases, which, in the event of tampering or theft, report the event to the relevant authorities in real time. This system, combined with ILCOR signage, ensures not only functionality but also visibility and protection of the devices, making the cardioprotection project a model of efficiency and safety.

The restoration of these lifesaving stations is a further step forward for the Municipality of Pozzuoli, which, through its actions, demonstrates its concern for the health and safety of its citizens.
