NAPLES – Palestinian flags and a banner reading “Zionists not welcome” greeted this morning at the airport of Capodichino, a flight from Israel. A group of pro-Palestinian activists staged a raid at the Naples airport to denounce—as they explained in a statement—"the presence in Italy of IDF soldiers on vacation, responsible for the massacres in Gaza and the West Bank."
Shouting “Zionists out of the city” and “Murderers,” the protesters challenged what they called “the complicity of Italian institutions in guaranteeing protection to those participating in the occupation of Palestinian territories.”

They called for "the end of all political, economic, and military agreements between Italy and Israel, the closure of preferential corridors for the military, and the opening of humanitarian corridors for those fleeing the bombings." The group accused the Israeli government of "genocide, ethnic cleansing, and the displacement of millions of Palestinians" and called for "the liberation of Palestine from the river to the sea”. The raid did not cause any disruptions to flights or incidents with the police, but it sparked political reactions and controversy on social media.

I don't know if what these protesters are doing is right, but it's clear there are strong disagreements on the issue. The Palestinian issue is complex, and reactions can vary. I hope a peaceful agreement is reached.
