New intervention against drug trafficking in San Giuseppe Vesuviano.
SAN GIUSEPPE VESUVIANO – A new crackdown on drug trafficking in the Vesuvian area. A 45-year-old local man with a criminal record was arrested last night by the State Police on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics.
Officers from the San Giuseppe Vesuviano Police Station , conducting special checks ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters, intercepted the man on Via Ungaretti, near Piazza Mercato. The 45-year-old, riding a scooter, attempted to flee at the sight of the patrol car, but was immediately stopped.
The search uncovered six packages of hashish and €180 in cash. In the scooter's underseat compartment, another 16 packages of the same substance were found, totaling approximately 50 grams. A subsequent house search seized two packages of marijuana, a knife, a box cutter, and drug packaging materials. The 45-year-old was arrested and handed over to judicial authorities.
