Sarno - The young man who wounded his mother with two gunshots last night while cleaning the weapon supplied to her at the family's detergent shop is a Guardia di Finanza soldier.

Yesterday evening, around 8:00 PM, the State Police intervened on Via Roma in Sarno following a report of several gunshots fired inside a household goods store.

According to an initial reconstruction, the bullets—at least two—were fired from the service pistol of the business owners' son, an off-duty finance officer. The shots struck the man's mother, wounding her in the arm and side.

The woman was promptly rescued and transported to the Villa Malta hospital , where she received initial treatment. She was subsequently transferred to the Umberto I hospital in Nocera Inferiore, where she remains hospitalized. Her condition is stable and, according to hospital sources, her life is not in danger.

The officers of the local police station, the technicians of the Scientific Police and the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza of the Scafati Company Command intervened on site.

Investigations are ongoing to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident. Investigators are also examining footage from the venue's internal video surveillance system. The matter is currently under wraps.

It's very strange that a soldier would injure a mother in a store. I wonder how the bullets could have been fired. Let's hope the woman recovers soon and that all the details are clarified.
