Naples – The City of Naples is accelerating its infrastructure efforts. The tender for the redevelopment of Via Tito Lucrezio Caro, a major artery that runs through Posillipo Hill, has been published.
The project, financed entirely by funds from the European Investment Bank (EIB), has a total value of approximately 3,5 million euros and is expected to last 365 consecutive days.
The project – approved by the City Council last July – includes a complete restyling of the roadway, the reconstruction of underground utilities, and an improvement in public lighting.
Interested companies must submit bids by 20:2025 PM on October 12, XNUMX. Among the new features introduced in the tender is the so-called "acceleration bonus," an incentive for those who complete the work ahead of the contractual deadline.

«The redevelopment works on the hill are continuing as planned Posillipo, an area of enormous landscape, environmental and tourist value", declared the mayor Gaetano Manfredi, underlining how the intervention on Via Tito Lucrezio Caro represents an important piece of the urban regeneration strategy.
"With the tender," he added, "a project begins that includes a new road surface, modern sidewalks, new trees, and the approval of the Superintendency, confirming a virtuous institutional synergy."
The Municipality also emphasizes its commitment to transparency and legality: this tender is also subject to the Integrity Pact and the Legality Protocol signed with the Prefecture, tools designed to ensure procedural fairness and maximum security in public procurement.
According to Infrastructure Councilor Edoardo Cosenza and Green Space Councilor Vincenzo Santagada, the redevelopment of Via Tito Lucrezio Caro is part of a broader plan to revitalize the city's hilly areas, with interventions aimed at improving mobility, reducing degradation, and restoring value to an area considered among the most valuable in the Neapolitan region.

The redevelopment of Via Tito Lucrezio Caro is a good initiative, but I wonder whether the EIB funds will be used wisely and whether the work will be completed on schedule. I hope there are no delays.
