Aversa - A ruthless group of youths, some as young as seventeen, allegedly spread terror in the heart of Aversa and surrounding towns, attacking and robbing minors and the elderly, often with guns and knives.
The Carabinieri of the Aversa Station uncovered the gang after a long and meticulous investigation coordinated by the Naples North Prosecutor's Office and the Naples Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
At dawn today, the military executed a precautionary order issued by the investigating judges of the two courts: two adults—a Tunisian citizen and a Ukrainian, both 19—were arrested, while three 17-year-old Italian minors were placed in residential care. All are charged with aggravated robbery and conspiracy to cause personal injury.
According to investigations conducted between January and March 2025, the gang allegedly carried out at least six robberies and attempted a seventh, all characterized by extreme violence and the use of knives or guns. Their preferred victims were young people and elderly people, chosen precisely for their fragility.
The modus operandi: they approached the victims with an excuse, then the ambush was triggered.
The baby gang almost always operated at night, near public parks or meeting places.

A Civil Protection "ghost" off-road vehicle used to transport drugs has led to seven arrests between Benevento and Avellino.
At gunpoint, the robbers forced the robbers to hand over cell phones, wallets, or other valuables, often of little value. In several cases, they didn't hesitate to kick and punch anyone who attempted to fight back. Some victims, including a minor, suffered injuries and bruises.
The arrest in flagrante and the turning point in the investigation
The turning point came on March 17, 2025, when the Carabinieri managed to arrest one of the gang members immediately after a robbery in the Pozzi park in Aversa. The young man had threatened two peers with a broken glass bottle, then attempted to escape. The police's prompt intervention allowed him to be arrested red-handed and allowed the investigation to begin.
Thanks to the collection and analysis of images from public and private video surveillance systems, the Carabinieri were able to identify the accomplices and connect the various incidents of violence. Their suspicions were further confirmed by the testimonies of the victims and bystanders, who provided descriptions consistent with the faces of the young men now under precautionary measures.
The charges and the presumption of innocence
The order executed today is a precautionary measure issued during the preliminary investigation. The five suspects remain presumed innocent until a final sentence is handed down. The Prosecutor's Offices of North Naples and Juvenile Justice continue to work to determine any other incidents linked to the same gang.

It's truly sad to see young people like this behaving violently and disrespectfully. We hope the authorities can do more to prevent these acts of violence in the future and protect the victims.
