Naples – A new step towards the cultural and economic development of Campania. Tomorrow, Thursday, October 16, at 10:30 a.m., Regional President Vincenzo De Luca will officially inaugurate the Campania Audiovisual District, a major hub dedicated to film and television production and training, located within the former NATO base in Bagnoli, Naples.
The initiative represents one of the Campania Region's strategic projects funded with resources from the 2021-2027 Development and Cohesion Fund and aims to make the Neapolitan area a hub for the entire audiovisual industry in Southern Italy.
An investment for the cultural industry
The new district will bring together production spaces, post-production centers, classrooms, and filming studios, offering technical and training support to industry professionals.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the project will be officially presented, attended by Antonio Marciano, president of the Campania Welfare Foundation; Titta Fiore and Maurizio Gemma, president and director of the Campania Region Film Commission, respectively; and actress, author, and producer Carolina Rosi, daughter of director Francesco Rosi, after whom the new regional school will be named.
The Regional Audiovisual School "Francesco Rosi"
A central element of the district will be the "Francesco Rosi" Regional Audiovisual School, the first public institution in Southern Italy dedicated to training and continuing education for audiovisual professionals.

The inauguration of the Campania Audiovisual District seems like a great idea for Naples and Campania in general, but I hope the funds are used wisely, otherwise growth opportunities for the cultural industry will be lost.
