The fashion world has lost one of its most iconic names. Cesare Paciotti, the designer who transformed the artisanal excellence of Civitanova Marche into an international symbol of style and luxury, passed away last night.

A sudden illness struck him at around 7:30 PM in his home in the Civitanova countryside. Attempts to rescue him were unsuccessful: the heart of the footwear king stopped, leaving a profound void in the Marche footwear district and in the global fashion scene.

He took over the family business in the 1980s, along with his sister Paola, inheriting the small artisan workshop founded by their parents Giuseppe and Cecilia. From that family legacy, Paciotti built a Made in Italy empire, taking the brand with its famous dagger logo from the Marche region to the shops of Hollywood, London, Paris, and Tokyo.

His shoes—sensual, bold, sculpted like works of art—have become the hallmark of rebellious luxury, poised between glamour and rock, classic elegance and contemporary irreverence. Fine leathers, metallic details, sky-high heels, and sculpted lines: each creation embodies the strong and refined personality of its creator.

The Cesare Paciotti brand was never just a company, but an aesthetic vision.

"Every shoe is a weapon of seduction," the designer loved to say. And that engraved dagger—which quickly became a globally recognizable symbol—perfectly encapsulated the brand's philosophy: elegance, power, and identity.

From the black stiletto, the brand's undisputed icon, to its accessories and jewelry collections, and its expansion into leather goods and clothing, Paciotti has transcended eras and trends without ever betraying its aesthetic codes. A rare balance between artisanal tradition and experimentation.

From runways to magazine covers, his creations have graced stars of every generation: Naomi Campbell, Beyoncé, Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria, Måneskin, Blanco, and even style icon Anna Dello Russo. They were all captivated by his bold, recognizable style, which embodied an elegant yet unconventional Italy.

In Civitanova Marche, today, the grief of a community that sees the loss of one of its most iconic symbols is palpable. The city and the entire footwear district mourn a man who transformed a family tradition into a global language.

The funeral date has not yet been announced. But Cesare Paciotti's legacy—between velvet and steel, between art and craft—will remain indelible in the history of Italian fashion.
