The Carabinieri Forestry Group of Naples continues its ongoing checks on hunting activities in the province. In the Salice area, in the territory of Giugliano in Campania, the military of the Forestry Unit of Pozzuoli, with the support of LIPU wildlife and hunting rangers, caught two men engaged in an illegal hunt. The two were found in possession of electronic devices used to artificially reproduce the song of the song thrush, a practice prohibited by Law 157 of 1992, which regulates hunting in Italy.
The Carabinieri seized two 12-gauge shotguns, six cartridges, three electromagnetic decoys complete with timers, SD cards, and speakers, as well as the body of a song thrush killed during the illegal activity.

It's important that the Carabinieri carry out these checks because illegal hunting harms the environment and wildlife. I hope this activity will be intensified and that penalties for those who break the law will be more severe.
