Naples – Another blow to street drug dealers in the heart of the Spanish Quarter. State Police stopped and arrested a 42-year-old Algerian man, already known to law enforcement, who was caught with a significant quantity of hashish ready to be sold on the market.
The operation, conducted overnight, is part of the extraordinary territorial control services ordered by the Naples Police Headquarters to curb the drug trade. It was carried out by officers from the Vicaria-Mercato police station, patrolling the area of Prince Umberto Square, a crucial and sensitive hub for nightlife and small-scale drug dealing.
The officers' action was triggered by an expert eye.

The officers, sensing the situation, intervened quickly, stopping the 42-year-old before he could escape into the alleys. A personal search left no room for doubt: the man was carrying 96 grams of hashish, divided into doses, and a stash of €855 in banknotes of various denominations. The money, likely the proceeds of retail sales, and the drugs were seized.
The picture that emerged—drugs ready for sale, cash, and evasive behavior—led to the immediate arrest of the convicted felon for possession of narcotics for the purpose of selling.
The episode is part of the wider mosaic of the action to combat petty crime carried out by the Policeof the State, which continues to patrol the city's hot spots to ensure safety and legality.

The police operation appears to have been effective in stopping drug trafficking, but I don't know if it will be enough to solve the problem. More and more people are involved, and the situation could worsen.
