Naples, the British Institute: "We don't have the staff to manage the disabled child, we haven't excluded him."

Clarification from the British Institute of Naples. On October 8, 2025, we received a formal formal notice from the lawyers representing the minor's parents. At the same time, without the possibility of a direct confrontation, a media campaign was launched that reported the facts inaccurately, misleadingly, and damaging to our reputation.
We would therefore like to clarify the following:

The child attended our English Adventures international kindergarten for three years, with a daily attendance of four to eight hours, Monday through Friday. In this setting, the teachers were responsible for introducing the children to the sounds and basics of the English language through fun and recreational activities.

For the current school year, after completing kindergarten, the parents enrolled their child in a public elementary school and, at the same time, requested that he enroll in our Back to English course, organized by the British Institutes.

This is a completely different course from the one previously followed: no longer playful, but exclusively didactic, aimed at structured learning and language certification, with attendance only one day a week (Wednesday) for a lesson lasting an hour and a half.

It is important to note that the British Institutes is a private body, not a public or parastatal one, and therefore is not required to employ dedicated teaching support staff, which the minor in question required.

Given the difficulties already encountered during the previous nursery program, and with the utmost transparency, we informed the parents that we did not have the appropriate professional skills to welcome their child into an educational setting.

The decision not to accept the enrollment request was therefore made after careful and thoughtful evaluation, with the child's well-being and specific needs as a priority.

Reading this note, it seems to me that there's some confusion about what actually happened. The minor's parents were right to ask for clarification, but perhaps there was a misunderstanding. Transparency is important.
