The pusher was found in possession of cocaine and contraband cigarettes
Naples Central Station continues to be one of the most sensitive points for urban security. Yesterday morning, Campania Railway Police officers arrested a 30-year-old Tunisian man, an illegal immigrant in Italy and already known to law enforcement, caught red-handed while dealing drugs near Corso Arnaldo Lucci, a short walk from Piazza Garibaldi.
The exchange took place under the eyes of the agents
During a surveillance and control operation in the railway area and surrounding areas, the police noticed a young man who, acting suspiciously, gave a small package in exchange for cash to a man who immediately disappeared into the crowd.
The incident didn't go unnoticed by the officers, who intervened immediately to apprehend the dealer. A frantic chase ensued along the sidewalk of Via Pica, ending after a few meters. The man, despite attempting to break free, was finally subdued and searched.
Contraband drugs and cigarettes
Inside the backpack he was carrying, the police found 25 doses of cocaine, already packaged and ready for sale, for a total weight of approximately 13 grams.

The combination of drugs and foreign tobacco suggests that the man was part of a widespread petty crime network operating in the Naples Central area, where drug dealing and smuggling are intertwined daily with the degradation and high presence of commuters and tourists.
The thirty-year-old was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and reported for possession and sale of foreign-produced tobacco without a permit.
After the usual formalities, he was taken to the Railway Police offices, pending the decisions of the competent judicial authority.
The station under observation
The operation is part of a broader plan to monitor and control railway areas, prepared by the Campania Railway Police Department, which in recent weeks has intensified patrols in Naples Central Station, Piazza Garibaldi, and along Corso Arnaldo Lucci, areas often reported as hubs for drug dealing and receiving stolen goods.
Yesterday's arrest is further confirmation of how Naples station remains a hot spot for urban security, where officers are busy daily dealing with an ever-evolving network of petty criminals who exploit the crowds and anonymity of major railway hubs to operate.
