Naples – A targeted hit at the heart of one of the city's hottest drug dealing hubs. Officers from the Naples Guardia di Finanza's Rapid Response Unit arrested a 41-year-old Italian man, already known to law enforcement, and seized over 330 grams of hashish and marijuana.
The operation, which began in the Traiano district and culminated in a search in Pozzuoli, dismantled an alleged drug ring and highlighted the enforcement efforts in the Soccavo neighborhood.
The road check and the first discovery
The operation by the finance police, the "Green Berets" specialists known for their high-impact operations, began in recent days near a square in the Traiano district, long under scrutiny by law enforcement for its heavy drug trade. During a territorial patrol, they stopped a vehicle driven by a 41-year-old local man.
Inside the car, the first significant discovery was made: a block of hashish weighing approximately 100 grams and a knife with an 8-centimeter blade, likely a defense or intimidation tool.

The search and the final loot
The raid didn't stop there. The military's investigation continued with a house search of the suspect's home, located in the municipality of Pozzuoli. It was there that the Guardia di Finanza discovered the actual stash: another 233 grams of marijuana, ready to be portioned and released on the market, and a precision scale—the key piece of evidence that would indicate the substance's commercial purpose, ruling out mere personal use.
The man, as confirmed by law enforcement, already had a criminal record. There was no escape for him: he was arrested in flagrante delicto for violating Article 73 of the Consolidated Law on Narcotics (Presidential Decree 309/90), a law that punishes the possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.
After the usual formalities, the 41-year-old was transferred to Poggioreale prison, pending his trial. The operation demonstrates the careful investigation and territorial control carried out by the Naples Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza, which relentlessly continues its war on drug trafficking networks, from the most remote drug dealing hubs to the highest levels of drug trafficking.
