Montesarchio – A night of madness, a brutal attack, a punitive expedition carried out in the heart of Sannio's nightlife. A 17-year-old boy, originally from Tocco Caudio, is admitted to intensive care at San Pio Hospital in Benevento, where he underwent delicate neurosurgery.
His condition remains very serious
The young man, GC, was the victim of a violent beating that took place outside the Xuè nightclub, on Via Cirignano, shortly after 3 a.m., at the end of a musical evening that had attracted dozens of young people from the Vitulanese Valley.
According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri of the Montesarchio Company, coordinated by Captain Virginia Coni, the fight broke out for no apparent reason. The victim and some friends were leaving the club after attending a concert by Neapolitan rapper Frezza when they were attacked by a group of youths waiting outside.
According to investigations, the attack appeared to be a punitive operation: two of the alleged attackers, both adults from Benevento, allegedly hit the 17-year-old with a baseball bat, leaving him unconscious on the ground.

The investigations and the first arrests
Thanks to images from municipal video surveillance cameras, officers were able to quickly identify four young men, two of whom were adults, believed to be involved in the attack. The detainees, located in Benevento a few hours after the incident, were taken to the police station for questioning, in the presence of their lawyers—Raffaele Scarinzi, Camillo Cancellario, and Fabio Russo—and are now at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
The investigation, coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Marilia Capitanio, is continuing to determine the motive and reconstruct the details of the beating. It has not been ruled out that the violence may have been triggered by a previous argument or an old conflict between groups of young people.
Patrols from the Mobile Radio Unit and the San Leucio del Sannio and Benevento stations responded to the scene of the attack, identifying numerous witnesses, many of whom—still in shock—were interviewed for hours by the Carabinieri.
While the 17-year-old fights between life and death in the intensive care unit, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Carabinieri are continuing their investigative work tirelessly to identify all those responsible for what, to all intents and purposes, appears to be a premeditated punitive expedition.
