Salerno: A fake court expert deceives an elderly woman and flees with jewelry and cash.

A man presents himself to an elderly woman under a false pretense, claiming to be a court expert to inspect her assets.

He showed up at the door of an elderly woman with an air of confidence and a false official assignment: "I'm a court expert, I have to check her valuables." With this excuse, a 17-year-old boy, living in the province of Naples, managed to gain the woman's trust and get her to show him jewelry and cash, before grabbing them and fleeing.

The episode occurred in Bellizzi, in the province of Salerno.

The Carabinieri of the local station investigated after the victim's complaint, managing to trace the young scammer and his accomplice, an adult already known to law enforcement for similar crimes. At the request of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Salerno, the investigating judge ordered the 17-year-old to be placed in a community.

According to the reconstruction, the boy had orchestrated the staging with surprising coolness: after convincing the woman to expose all her valuables for a supposed official reconnaissance, he took possession of the loot and quickly disappeared, leaving her with nothing.
