Pozzuoli - The earth has again experienced persistent shaking in the Campi Flegrei area, where a persistent seismic swarm has kept the local population on edge for several hours this afternoon and early evening.
The most significant event occurred at 19:57 PM, when the seismographs of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) - Vesuvius Observatory (OV) recorded a magnitude 2.7 earthquake.
The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at a surface depth of just 3 kilometers, was located in the municipality of Pozzuoli, close to the Solfatara area, the beating heart of the Phlegraean caldera.

Lo seismic swarm, carefully monitored by theVesuvius Observatory, has been ongoing since 16:38 PM today and has now recorded over twenty tremors in total. After a peak of 2.7, the sequence continued with events of lesser intensity, including the last tremor recorded shortly after 20:30 PM, with a magnitude of 2.2.
Fortunately, no damage to people or property has been reported so far, although the frequency of these events has refocused attention on the area's volcanic dynamics and the need to maintain high levels of vigilance regarding the bradyseismic phenomena that characterize the region. INGV-OV monitoring continues uninterrupted.

It's important for people to be aware of these seismic events and to remain vigilant. Even if there's no damage, tremors can cause concern, and safety must be a top priority.
