Ercolano – Five men have been arrested by Carabinieri officers from the Torre del Greco Company and the Ercolano Station on charges of attempted aggravated murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
The precautionary custody order, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples, was executed this morning in the towns of Ercolano and Torre del Greco, following an investigation that detailed an ambush that took place on April 27.
The ambush in Resina: five gunshots fired a few meters from the barracks
It was still dark when, in the early hours of the morning of April 27, in Corso Resina, a few meters from the Carabinieri barracks, the silence was broken by five shots in rapid succession.
A local youth was struck by two bullets, one of which hit him in the abdomen. Despite the severity of his wounds, the victim survived: rushed to the hospital and undergoing surgery, he was released after several days of hospitalization.
The ambush, carried out by men on board a car, had the typical characteristics of a settling of scores, perhaps arising from old personal grudges or criminal disputes within the local community, already marked in the past by episodes of violence and settling of scores.
The investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples, were conducted by the military of the Ercolano branch and allowed for the detailed reconstruction of the dynamics and movements of the suspects before and after the shooting.

Through the analysis of surveillance cameras, wiretaps and ballistic tests, the investigators were able to trace the firing group and outline the context in which the ambush took place.
The motive, according to what has emerged, would be linked to old personal grudges or to conflicts of a criminal nature within the local fabric, already marked in the past by episodes of violence and settling of scores.
The raid and the arrests
The five men—all already known to law enforcement for previous convictions related to crimes against persons and property—were taken to prison and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
Investigators do not rule out the possibility that the incident may be part of a growing climate of tension between small local criminal groups, in an area that has long been plagued by violence and intimidation.
The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office and the Carabinieri of the Torre del Greco Company continue to work to identify any accomplices and clarify every detail of the motive that led to an armed raid as dangerous as it was brazen.

The arrests of these five men appear to be important in trying to stop the violence in the area, but it's important to understand whether there are accomplices or other motives behind this attack. The situation is complex.
