On site, officers from the Castello di Cisterna investigative unit conducted surveys and found fifteen spent shell casings on the asphalt, evidence of the violence of the attack. Investigations are ongoing to reconstruct the dynamics of the attack and identify the origins of the armed raid: it has not been ruled out that the wounding may have been the result of a settling of scores within local criminal circles.
