Casapulla – The Carabinieri launched a major crackdown on drug trafficking in the Caserta area. A nighttime operation between Friday and Saturday, conducted by members of the Operations and Mobile Unit of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company, led to the dismantling of a major drug dealing center in Casapulla.
The result is four arrests and a large seizure of narcotics: over 1,2 kilograms of cocaine, crack, and hashish, along with laboratory equipment and cash.
From the disco to the apartment
The raid took place around 23:00 PM, culminating in a targeted surveillance operation focused on two key locations: a well-known nightclub on Via Nazionale Appia and a suspicious apartment in the center of Casapulla.
The operation, conducted by uniformed patrols and plainclothes units with unmarked cars, focused on intercepting the movements of a suspected drug dealer.
The interception of the 'Corriere'
Shortly before midnight, the Carabinieri's attention was drawn to a white Fiat 500X. The driver was a 28-year-old man already known to law enforcement, who immediately displayed suspicious behavior. The young man was observed taking 26 packages (13 of crack and 13 of cocaine, totaling approximately 25 grams) from a mailbox in a nearby building, hiding the packages in the passenger compartment of his car.
Immediately afterward, he headed to the nightclub to meet a second young man, a 33-year-old. At that point, patrols intervened and apprehended the two suspects.
The immediate search confirmed the suspicions: the recently collected doses were found under the upholstery of the 28-year-old's car. The accomplice, however, had with him a clutch bag containing €650 and a set of keys that proved crucial: it opened the gate, the door, and the mailbox of the house under surveillance.
Drug dealing laboratory: record seizure
The keys directed the Carabinieri to the apartment, where the break-in was forced due to an internal lock.

Inside, a couple, a 45-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman (the latter caught trying to escape), were arrested. The house turned out to be a full-fledged production and packaging facility. On the tables, the Carabinieri found colored bags, three precision scales, adhesive tape, vacuum packing machines, and, most notably, 190 grams of bicarbonate of soda used to cut drugs.
In total, the following were seized from the apartment:
728 grams of cocaine
50 grams of Crack
80 grams of hashish
570 euros in cash (deemed to be illicit proceeds).
All four individuals involved—the two drug dealers intercepted outside (a 28-year-old and a 33-year-old) and the couple found in the apartment—were arrested for possession and trafficking of narcotics. After the usual formalities, they were respectively transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere and Pozzuoli prisons, where they are now at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

This Carabinieri operation was truly important in combating drug trafficking in the area. However, the question remains whether these actions are sufficient to reduce the problem in the long term. A thorough analysis is needed.
