Ascea – A new, serious incident of violence against emergency medical personnel has emerged. This morning, shortly after noon, a 118 emergency medical team was verbally and physically attacked by a man during a home visit in the Stampella district of Ascea. According to initial reports, the attacker is the son of the elderly woman the paramedics were assisting.
The operation was requested due to a sudden illness. Upon arriving on the scene, paramedics began procedures to stabilize the patient. It was at this point that her son, perhaps under the pressure of the moment, apparently lost control. According to the reconstruction, the man first hurled harsh insults at the crew, creating an atmosphere of intimidation. The situation then escalated: in an attempt to hinder the operation, the man punched one of the ambulance's side mirrors, damaging it.
The cold blood of the health workers
Despite the threats, the tense atmosphere and the act of vandalism, the 118 staff maintained an exemplary composure.
