Campania is bracing for another wave of severe weather. The regional Civil Protection Department, after assessments by the Functional Center, has issued a yellow-level weather alert for thunderstorms, valid from 8:00 PM today until 2:00 PM tomorrow, Friday, October 31st. The alert primarily concerns the coastal area, particularly the Campanian Plain. Napoli, the Islands and the Vesuvian Area, the Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, the Sarno and Piscentini Mountains, up to Tusciano and Alto Sele.
Sudden and intense rainfall is expected, albeit short-lived, with the possibility of hailstorms, lightning, and strong wind gusts. These phenomena could cause flooding, landslides, rockfall, and rising water levels, as well as damage to roofs and exposed structures. The rapidity with which these disturbances could develop increases the risk of localized criticalities, especially in the most vulnerable areas of the country.
The Civil Protection Department has urged affected municipalities to activate their Municipal Operations Centers (COCs) and implement all measures outlined in their municipal emergency plans. It is also recommended that public green spaces be monitored and communications from the Regional Operations Room be paid close attention.

This article discusses another bout of severe weather approaching Campania. The Civil Protection Department has issued a yellow alert, but I'm not sure what that means. I just hope there isn't too much damage, but the forecast looks grim.
